What better way to buka puasa from your week long seafood restrain than to go for an all you can eat Japanese buffet (gosh, I’m still salvating over it lo)!!!
So, that’s what I did last Saturday brunch – enjoying 3 hours of meals after meals of Japanese cuisine @ UmaiYa, Damansara Uptown . Reservation is a must as they are quite in demand, so pls remember to call in for a place rather than walk in to avoid disappointment.
Furthermore, the reservation comes with pre-order service (something that caught us by surprise). We got a call a day before the buffet to confirm on our attendance and also to pre-order. Not having the menu with us or any idea what is their speciality, we just called them to simply order UmaiYa top picks for us – and they did!! Simply awesome J
The buffet starts from 11.30 and last all the way to 2.30 with free flow of beers, cokes and green tea – already a good deal for those who can drink but if you can’t, no worries, there’s a 2 page all you can order menu enough for you to enjoy the 3 hours there. Oyster is not included though, but available with additional RM15 for half a dozen!! But since there are only 2 of us, we opt to skip tat as we can’t even finish trying items on the menu. So, recommended to go in groups so you can try all they have to offer, especially the maki sets that comes in 6 pieces per order!

I kinda like UmaiYa as the environment is kinda more intimate – Japanese style settee, not too crowded with tables, an overall nice ambience to enjoy the buffet. Only thing though, the service was a bit slow for us. It started off ok but when patrons started to come in full, the service was delayed quite a few times as in the order tak sampai sampai until a full 15 minutes or more. Might be the extra crowd or something...but it didn’t bother us much as it gave us some time to digest the food before stuffing more in :P
So, some pictures of the food is a must so here it is...

Total damage for the day RM110 – quite reasonable for a 3 hours buffet, especially more so if you could drink ;)
